Beaded African Knobkierie
Zulu beaded Iqhabanga Knobkierie is used when uMakoti (the bride) is getting married and Iqhabanga is used as a gift to the husband or to be used as an accessory if one is wearing traditional attire. This piece is designed by Du Confidence, it takes inspiration from African design and print.
Du Confidence was founded by Duduzile Ngubane in 2012 and was officially registered in 2016. Dudu’s passion for African arts was ignited while doing a design course during her time at Howard College in KwaZulu Natal where she was studying towards African music and drama. While completing her studies, she worked as wardrobe assistant for an African music production where she was responsible for dressing and accessorizing performers. This reinforced her passion for arts and crafts.
Dudu’s aspiration for her business is to expand her manufacturing operations to create an institution that develops skills so that budding entrepreneurs can open their own businesses using the skills they have learned.
